This is our story. Ermenegildo Zegna started in Trivero Northern Italy in 1910, with the dream to create the most beautiful fabrics in the world. Now with over 500 shops and 6,500 employees worldwide, and completely vertically integrated, Zegna is the world leader in luxury menswear, and one of Italy’s best-known dynamic family businesses.   Ermenegildo Zegna’s dream was not just about fabric, work and life were defined by his desire to give back. He wanted to make his home town, and the world around, a better place. He built a road, he built a town, he gave back by building a community, which is today Oasi Zegna.   Ermenegildo Zegna’s vision was in many ways ahead of his time: to source the best quality natural fibres, directly from their country of origin; to innovate in product and production processes, and to give back to the environment of his suppliers and workers.   Each generation of the family has been involved in consolidating Ermenegildo Zegna’s legacy, opening in 1980 its first boutique in Paris. This was followed by shops in London in 1983 and Milan in 1985. When it opened its boutique at the Palace Hotel, Beijing, in 1991, it was the first western luxury menswear brand to open a boutique in China, continuing the entrepreneurial spirit from the founder.   The company continues to be family-run and is led by the third generation: Gildo as CEO, Paolo as Chairman, and Anna as President of Fondazione Zegna. Today, the fourth generation has entered the company and continues to innovate. The group has three principles: setting long-term objectives, maintaining family ownership to ensure continuity, and following a sound ethical commitment enshrined in a rigorous corporate governance system. These ensure that the company stays true to the founder’s vision while ensuring it constantly adapts to the needs of the consumer.
